Mid-level/Senior Web Developer for Interactive Agency (Rails, PHP, Front-end)

An interactive media advertising firm located in Chelsea is looking for an experienced, versatile web developer. We do a wide range of work for many different clients, so we`ll need a candidate with a wide range of skills. Note, this is not an entry level position, as we require previous professional experience (i.e. if you have never deployed a production website, other than your blog, please do not apply).

Your diverse coding responsibilities will include:

- Developing large custom made CMS`s based on client specifications (Ruby on Rails)

- Coding small 6-10 page sites with form functionality (PHP on a LAMP Stack)

- Coding one-off landing pages in HTML/CSS/javascript

- coding html emails using tables

You must be comfortable handling a wide-range of project types with varying degrees of complexity, different schedules, etc.

The ideal Candidate would possess the following skills

- 2+ Years of Ruby on Rails

- 4+ PHP on a LAMP Stack

- Experience with Source Control (svn or git)

- Use of MYSQL databases

- Must have deployed multiple websites to a production environment

- Linux server admin (SSH, FTP, SFTP, cron jobs, prepping a production environment, editing Apache config files)

- Knowledge of email coding best practices (using tables instead of divs, etc.)

- Strong Front end skills in HTML/CSS/javascript

- Demonstrated experience using either JQuery or Prototype/scriptaculous

- Clear communication skills

- ability to work in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Strong knowledge of internet best practices

- Ability to slice up an image in photoshop

- Experience with PC and Mac environments

- Ability/Experience managing other coders
